Short, honest reads from Jack — landing here soon.
What to expect, what to pack, and why nerves are normal.
Coming soonReading the field, picking events that stretch you.
Coming soonStaying steady when the score gets tight.
Coming soonDUPR is pickleball's rating system — a number (roughly 2.0 to 8.0) that tracks how you actually play, not how long you've played. Every DUPR-rated match you enter nudges your number up or down based on the result and who you played. Why care? Because it puts you in matches against people at your level — which is where the fun (and the improvement) is. You don't need a rating to start: play one DUPR-rated event and you'll have one.
Not sure which event suits you, what grade to enter, or whether you're ready? That's exactly what I'm here for — no such thing as a silly question.
